Sorcery is the ability to channel and manipulate nether, and is frowned upon by many as a dangerous and corruptive practice.

Sorcery is a skill that player characters can learn by taking the Sorcerous Channeling ability available to Nightblades and Warlocks. Some things affected by Sorcery skill levels include:

  • The duration of the effects of various sorcerous abilities.
  • The chances for a Shadow Familiar to intercept and prevent incoming attacks.
  • The chances to avoid being overwhelmed by particularly strong concentrations of ambient nether in certain areas.
  • Two simultaneous channels of sorcery can be utilized at 100 skill, which will increase damage of raw casts and various sorcery spell effects.
  • Three simultaneous channels of sorcery can be utilized at 300 skill, which will further increase damage of raw casts and various sorcery spell effects.
  • Sorcery skill reduces the chances of spending energy on second and third simultaneous sorcery channels per second.
  • Various other mysterious things!

NOTE: Sorcery skill does not impact the attack roll numbers of ranged sorcery attack spells! Ranged sorcery attacks utilize the Ranged Combat skill for attack rolls like any other ranged attack.
