Armor

Armor comes in three distinctive types; light, medium and heavy. The combination of the pieces you wear will effect your overall armor level, which is important when considering what abilities you tend to use in combat. It will also effect your Armor Hindrance, which will effect how well you can fight in what you're wearing.

The armor command can be used to find out your overall Armor Level, as well as your Armor Hindrance and potential skill roll against this penalty that is based off your Armor Use skill and potentially abilities.

Armor Specifics

To learn more about a piece of armor in detail, make sure you examine it. Doing so will give you something like this:

You carefully examine a fine frosty-white wyrm-scale cuirass that you are wearing ...
A soft leather cuirass with frosty-white wyrm scales attached to afford additional protection to the wearer's torso.
It has the following minor components:
   a copper buckle (x3)
a skein of silver-gray alpaca wool thread
a skein of white sheep wool thread
   an iron rivet (x6)
some soft frosty-white wyrm scales (x5)
It is a huge item, mainly made of wyrm animal-scale.
When worn, it will provide significant warmth for the following body locations: back, chest, abdomen.
It can be worn in the cuirass inventory slot.
It is a protective garment of the leather_scale type, classified as light armor, and would afford the following levels of protection:
   Bludgeon: 60%
   Crush: 40%
   Hack: 50%
   Pierce: 40%
   Puncture: 40%
   Rake: 50%
   Slash: 60%
It appears to be in good repair (90%).
It appears to be of fine(+1) quality.
Roundtime: 3 seconds.

  • Warmth: Describes how much protection it will provide against cold temperatures, and in which locations.
  • Slot: Tells you where it is worn.
  • Armor Type: Lists what type of armor type it is, its armor level, and also lists what percent it will protect against basic damage types.
  • Additional Resistances: Any additional resistances the piece of armor has will be listed here. This will only show if your character has been struck a few times while wearing armor made from a material that offers this.
