Skinning

From COGG

Skinning can be used to procure pelts, antlers, hooves, and so on from animal corpses. Greater skill may be required to skin certain creatures, but most common creatures can yield pelts at even Novice skill, though with a chance of failure. Skinned pelts can then be tanned and prepared for use in Leatherworking, or can be sold at the market to be available for purchase to other player characters or possibly utilized by NPC townsfolk.

Usage

Once a skinnable creature is killed, simply use the skin command and target the creature. Most skinning activity will require a dagger of some kind. The dagger can be anywhere in a character's inventory and does not need to be held in hand.

Syntax: skin <creature>

Example: skin elk

The skinning process will auto-repeat until manually stopped or otherwise prevented from continuing.

Notes

Use the container set skin subcommand to designate a default container for skinned items to be placed into, rather than having to gather them from the ground.

The butcher command is used to procure meat and bones from a corpse, and is often performed after skinning. A default container can be set for this as well, via container set butcher
