In addition to now being available for purchase in general stores, writing slates have received an update. They now allow the WRITE command to be targeted just like speech can be with the double-colon syntax. Examples:
(first-person)
write ::room Hello, everyone!
You write on your rectangular writing slate with your rough stick of limestone chalk and hold it up to for all to see.

(third-person)
((DEV Rias)) writes on a rectangular writing slate with a rough stick of limestone chalk and holds it up for all to see.
You read a rectangular writing slate (Common Letters):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello, everyone!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(first-person)
write ::bob You owe me cookies.
You write on your rectangular writing slate with your rough stick of limestone chalk and show it to Bob.

(second-person)
((DEV Rias)) writes on a rectangular writing slate with a rough stick of limestone chalk and shows it to you.
You read a rectangular writing slate (Common Letters):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You owe me cookies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(third-person)
((DEV Rias)) writes on a rectangular writing slate with a rough stick of limestone chalk and shows it to Bob.
Hopefully this makes things less fiddly for characters who rely heavily on writing rather than speech to communicate. Enjoy!
