The CLOK/COGG (CLOGG) Timeline

Post by Rias »

I've been working to put together the definitive general timeline of major history events that make up the combined CLOK/COGG (CLOGG) timeline! Keep in mind that this is not all-inclusive; it mainly includes stuff that is relatively common-knowledge and common-interest enough to be publicly known. Some events or particular details are intentionally missing because they were known only to specific people. Plenty of more minor or niche stuff has also been knowingly left off, but if anyone notices there's something missing that should be included (that wasn't obviously a secret of some kind or otherwise covered up or whatever IC), please do bring it up.

Looking this all up and putting it all together was both fun and frustrating. Information became increasingly difficult to track down as the years got more recent and Discord became more prevalent while BBS use tapered off. One of the many reasons I always badger people to use the BBS! Searching for information on the BBS is easy-peasy, already at least somewhat organized into various categories and threads and such for easy sorting and sifting through results and following threads over long periods of time. Trying to dig up specific (useful) information from chat, on the other hand, is a nightmare.

I'm happy to report that the only major things I came across that I felt needed to be retconned were, as anticipated, the er ... anachronostically massive and luxurious Haiban, and the Harbinger attack on Shadgard's church. I didn't even have to shift any other events around in order or anything. It was made rather easy by the fact that 2019 served as a sort of convenient gap year - CLOK events had tapered off to the point there was an official announcement made about it, while COGG was still in the feature/mechanics development phase so events weren't really happening much over here yet either. I thusly used the corresponding IC year of 1219 as my "insert a few in-world events to tie everything between CLOK and COGG together" year.

Important note: The below timeline will be turned into an IC document that will be available for perusal in the Library of Qamar. This means A) It is not all guaranteed to be completely accurate and factual B) May be biased and C) It is information that pretty much anyone would be able to learn by just heading to the Library (and maybe even some copies in other towns/outposts) to look over a recent history timeline of the local Central Lost Lands region. If anyone wants to avoid "spoilers" about recent Central Lost Lands history - all information that should be assumed to have been available ICly anyway to anyone looking for it - go ahead and refrain from reading further. For everyone interested in looking over the timeline, grab a snack and a drink for the slog through the IG years of 1210 through 1223!

==========

## CLOK Era (2009-2018)

### 1210

- A mysterious farm occupied by walking scarecrows is discovered along the road north of Shadgard. Some locals insist it wasn't always there, but can't quite say when exactly it showed up.

### 1211

- Swarms of infested invade Shadgard multiple times until an "infested warlord" is discovered to be leading them from Tarueka and destroyed, halting the attacks.
- Mayor Dannal of Shadgard becomes very sick; Walter Gunther becomes Acting Mayor in Dannal's stead.
- Animated scarecrows near Shadgard attack the town with the claim that they must retrieve a stolen scythe. It is soon discovered that a sorcerer stole the scythe from an important figure among the scarecrows known as the Harvest Lord. After much back-and-forth with the scythe changing hands multiple times, it is at last returned to the scarecrows and hostilities cease.
- The Shadgard Orphanage is built.
- A member of the Church of Light claims to be receiving strange visions which would ultimately lead a group of adventurers to discover the lost underground ruins of Thaelsh northeast of Shadgard, accessed via Stone Canyon. Another member of the Church of Light would later lead an expedition to attempt to purge the worst of the nether-corruption in an old temple within the ruins. The purging was only partially successful, but as a result the Temple would become an ideal garrison and place of relative safety within the nether-infested ruins, often occupied by Church members wishing to keep the nether contained.
- Seeking any signs of a lost scouting party, a group from Shadgard discover a ruined outpost far to the north. They are driven back by archery fire and nether-bolts, after which a warlock by the name of Sceptus Corvus introduces himself as the lord of the outpost and invites the arrivals to join him, offering power. The group of Shadgardians refuse and are attacked, some of them slain while others survive to return and report the incident.
- The warlock Sceptus Corvus of Corvus Outpost begins more open and widespread efforts to recruit individuals interested in embracing the nether and leading a new kind of life in a changing Lost Lands. Other outcasts from society, such as canim and lucid infested, are welcomed as well.

### 1212

- Sceptus Corvus leads several invasions of nethrim against Shadgard for unknown reasons. Some speculated goals are studying the Shadgard Barrier, kidnapping residents, and striking at the local Church of Light. After several such invasions, Shadgard sends a desperate plea for aid to those managing the Quarantine.
- A group of Viali arrive in the Central Lost Lands in response to Shadgard's call for aid. They establish a base in a section of the ruins of Valeria.
- Sceptus Corvus leads another invasion of nethrim against Shadgard, destroying the defensive gate in the canyon and gaining access to the town for a time before being driven back thanks to the assistance of the Viali reinforcements who had heeded Shadgard's call for aid.
- Various back-and-forth skirmishing between Shadgard and Corvus Outpost.
- Tse Gaiyan agents caught breaking into Shadgard Acting Mayor Gunther's home; Tse Gaiyan and its members banned from Shadgard as a result.
- Corvus Outpost attacked by Viali strike force who retrieve various prisoners. No sign of Sceptus. Under the condition that the Corvus Outpost cease hostilities against Shadgard, the Viali then withdraw. Lady Lythwer becomes the new leader of the Corvus Outpost and sends any remaining nethrim to the caverns below.

### 1213

- Lady Lythwer heads various renovations of the crumbling old Corvus Outpost.
- Acting Mayor Gunther disappears, to be soon after found dead among other corpses in infested caverns within Bristbane Forest. There is much debate over why Gunther's corpse was discovered in such a location, though the official claims of Tse Gaiyan are that he was in fact infested by the resen-spores. Sheriff Samuel Cotton now serves as Acting Mayor of Shadgard under the direction of the sickly Mayor Dannal. Tse Gaiyan are no longer banned from Shadgard, though a lingering prejudice and suspicion remains.
- Mayor Dannal begins recovering but no longer wishes to serve as Mayor. As his last major mayoral act he introduces the idea of a Shadgard Town Council, consisting of 5 additional individuals having leadership roles alongside the Mayor in order to spread the governing power out more rather than being consolidated into a single individual and risking a single point of failure.

### 1214

- Susannah Buckmiller is voted in as Mayor of Shadgard, along with Town Council members Horace Graves, Wynn Avery, Delinda Shoemaker, Elbridge Yesterday, and Dorothy Bell.
- Lord Winston seizes control of Corvus Outpost. Whereabouts of previous leader Lady Lythwer unknown.
- Word spreads of the Blood Cult, a group dedicated to the Blood God and deriving power from the torture and bloodletting of victims. As Cult activity increases, strange voices and visions are experienced by individuals throughout the region seemingly at random, often involving blood sacrifice and bloody altars. Rumors abound that speaking the Blood God's true name will bring down a curse upon the utterer if they are not considered worthy to speak it. The Cult will go on to attack hamlets and kidnap residents as well as set up massive bone totems at various points that emit a strange energizing power.
- A tunnel is dug as an alternative entry into the ruins of Thaelsh in order to avoid the dangerous Stone Canyon and its hostile inhabitants.
- The Western Coalition Headquarters fort is attacked by Dunwyr and burned. Efforts to rebuild begin soon after, with the Coalition artisans intent on making it bigger and more luxurious than its previous rustic fort incarnation, dubbing the new settlement "Haiban". Many are drawn to the idea of a new settlement built on the concepts of wealth and luxury amid the ruins and strife of the Lost Lands, and the growing settlement attracts many artisans and settlers.
- Unknown actors attempt to cave in the Blood Cult's lair beneath Bald Hill. The attempt is only partially successful.
- Tse Gaiyan suspicions about a high-ranking officer being infested leads to the disappearance and replacement of said officer, along with various organizational changes due to assumed leaked organizational information.
- Lord Winston leads some citizens of Corvus outpost on a mysterious mission to help solve the issue of nethrim going rampant in the caverns beneath Corvus Outpost.

### 1215

- In a rare instance of cooperation, a Dunwyr druid leads a group to the Dead Woods near Shadgard in order to perform a ritual that will help bring out the deep nether-corruption of the forest so that it might be dealt with and some chance of regrowth may occur, even if not necessarily within the near future. The nether manifests as what are now known as darkwoodes and mossy shamblers.
- The Blood Cult attacks the Thaelsh Temple, driving out the previous garrison and claiming it for themselves.
- Loggers report a new presence of ferocious wolves in Wildhaven Grove, making it much more difficult to acquire the coveted redwood timber from the area.
- Arcanists in the Central Lost Lands region experience strange disruptions to many of their conjuration glyphs. The situation is eventually resolved but any details are hazy.
- Canim activity in Vatnfjall Ruins outside Mistral Lake increases, leading Mistral Lake to begin ferrying passengers into and out of town via barge as an alternative to the route through the ruins.
- The hamlet of Emleth is overwhelmed by infested.
- For unknown reasons, the portcullis to Valeria is shut and locked. Those peering through are able to see the corpses of some of the Viali inhabitants, and the ruin goes silent.
- After more than a year of Haiban being the target of constant harassment and raids by Dunwyr and all manner of other brigands and lawless opportunists, the Western Coalition makes the decision to cut their losses and abandon the unfinished settlement. The remains are promptly picked over and eventually fall to ruin.
- The Blood Cult is driven from the Thaelsh Temple.
- Mistral Lake takes notice of a presence of surprisingly organized canim in Vatnfjall. Some attempts are made to put them down, but the large canim packs drive off any attackers.
- Notes are found on the town post board about a Lord Hilmir Agmundr claiminig to be the rightful heir to Vatnfjall and Mistral Lake. This leads some to recall a man named Orvendr Agmundr who had previously called for greater transparency and citizenship representation with Mistral Lake's government and had been getting increasing support (helped by the discovery that he could trace his lineage to the ruling line of Vatnfjall at the time the Aetgardian Plague struck) until he mysteriously vanished, as did many of his greatest supporters.
- Unrest begins building in Mistral Lake due to the recollection of Orvendr and his cause, and the resulting increased focus on the lack of citizen representation within the government at Mistveil Keep and the perceived apathy of Mistral Lake's rulers toward their people.
- In an attempt to quell the building unrest, Lady Odette of Mistveil Keep announces that the Keep itself will henceforth be opened to the public as a gesture of greater transparency and unity. Amid her announcement she is spirited away by a dense cloud of mist as a disembodied voice informs those gathered that her tenure as liaison of the Keep has ended and instructs the people to elect their own Council members by midnight if they wish greater representation. Nine such Council members are elected in a rather hasty process to become the Council of Nine Representatives.
- The hamlet of Westbrook is attacked by nethrim. Nearby Mistral Lake sends troops to assist and leaves a garrison to protect Westbrook from any further attacks, proclaiming Westbrook to now be a Protectorate of Mistral Lake.
- A pack of canim attack the hamlet of Ashdell. Nearby Mistral Lake sends troops to assist and leaves a garrison to protect Ashdell from any further attacks, proclaiming Ashdell to now be a Protectorate of Mistral Lake.
- Mistral Lake is now considered the capital of the newly-formed Mistveil Dominion, a faction determined to make the surrounding region safer and bring a greater level of peace, order, and prosperity to all of its people.
- The hamlet of Keth is invaded by nethrim. The Mistveil Dominion sends troops to drive off the nethrim and proclaims Keth a Protectorate of the Mistveil Dominion. The surviving villagers choose to evacuate the settlement due to being the target of several invasions over the years and opt to instead integrate into safer settlements. The Mistveil Dominion abandons the site soon after.
- The bulk of infested are slain or driven from Tarueka for a time, leaving it virtually abandoned for a time before it is later reclaimed by infested.

### 1216

- A resistance group has formed within the Mistveil Dominion, with the aim of liberating the people from the overbearing tyranny of the Dominion. They intermittently harass and skirmish with Dominion forces, and occasionally temporarily drive Dominion forces away from the "protectorate" hamlets, but never for too long. They are rumored to frequently lead unhappy citizens of said hamlets away to some other hidden locations where they can live free from the Dominion's tyranny.
- It becomes known that some members of the Church of Light are aiding the Resistance and even openly fighting against the Dominion. The Dominion seizes the chapel in Mistral Lake and takes all known members in for questioning. The Church is ultimately allowed to remain in Mistral Lake but is under extreme scrutiny and regulation. Rumors circulate about several prominent Church members from the Mistral Lake community disappearing.
- After the sabotage of several Dominion Waystation construction sites, the Mistveil Dominion places a large bounty on the head of the insurrectionist, anarchist, anti-government saboteur Fabrizio, AKA "the Masked Madman".
- The ruined village of Pyrewood is discovered.
- A group of bandits known as the Proud Rabble become known for harassing travelers and such.
- Rumors begin swirling about a search for the Chalice of Tears, an artifact blessed by Naia.
- The Mistveil Dominion brings the villages of Eastwall, Harrowdale, and Mountain Gate into their fold.
- Not long after the Resistance's latest successful attempt to drive the Dominion forces from it, the hamlet of Westbrook is discovered to be inhabited by giant spiders and covered in webs, and eventually renamed Spinner's Creek.

### 1217

- The Mistveil Dominion's more remote outposts are harried by Dunwyr.
- Thaelsh begins swarming with more nethrim than ever.
- A rotting knight is sighted at various points throughout the Central Lost Lands region, claiming to be serving his Queen but otherwise speaking little to those who make the attempt to conversate. This queen is eventually named as Nolvene, which records indicate to have been the Queen of Thaelsh in the past before its ruin.
- Some citizens of Mistral Lake organize a large attack on the canim of Vatnfjall. After some success they are driven back, and the canim appear to have been whipped into a frenzy and proceed to lash out against nearby Dominion waystations, constructions sites, and a guard tower before returning ot the ruins once again.
- The Mistvel Dominion extends their campaign northward over the mountains to bring more territories into their fold.

### 1218

- A company from Lapis arrives in the region led by an inquisitor seeking to root out nether-corruption. They eventually establish a base of operations within Valeria and soon become known for hunting sorcerers.
- The Lapisian company attacks the Ravenwood Mausoleum, driving out the Rook Parlour members stationed there.
- The Lapisian inquisitor holds a public execution of several sorcerers outside Valeria.
- The Lapisians lead an attack on the spiders inhabiting Spinner's Creek, though the results are short-lived.
- Rumors circulate of Blood Cult presence in the ruins of Keth.

## The Merging Year (Contains events that didn't actually happen in either game with players around to observe/take part in them, but the events are being inserted into the history to tie up any loose ends that existed between CLOK and COGG.)

### 1219

- The Mistveil Dominion responds to Lapisian incursion into their lands by sending a large battalion to besiege Valeria. The siege of Valeria plays out for some time, being largely a waiting game.
- With much of the Dominion army occupied with the siege of Valeria, Resistance activity in the Dominion increases dramatically. Rumors abound that the Republic of Exiles, a loose coalition of exiles and pirates from the coastal and island Lost Lands region to the west, are assisting. Additionally, increased attacks on the Dominion Heartland by Dunwyr are reported.
- The Mistveil Dominion ceases the siege of Valeria for unspecified reasons, though the common belief is that the troops are being redirected to quell the rumored rebellion in the Dominion's northern territories. The fate of the Lapisians is uncertain, though many unverified accounts state that they abandoned Valeria and returned to Lapis.
- Rook Parlour returns to the Ravenwood Mausoleum.
- The Mistveil Dominion seals its southern border at Fort Haarskard in Sorveggen Pass.
- News reaches the region about the King of Ivial disbanding the Knights Templar for acts of treason and seeking not only the arrest of all Templar, but any known thaumaturges as well for suspected support of the Templar treason. Local Templar are divided on whether to abide by the disbandment or continue on in the Lost Lands regardless as their own splinter group. The Mistveil Dominion declares their support of the Viali King's decision and begins seeking the arrest of Templar and all other thaumaturges in order to deliver them to justice and perhaps, as some rumors claim, begin laying the foundation of positive foreign relations with Ivial and thus attain recognition and credibility outside the Quarantine.
- The Mistveil Dominion puts out a bounty for the capture of or information on thaumaturges. As a result, many thaumaturges are captured or simply disappear. The Church of Light announces their official acknowledgment of the disbandment of the Knights Templar and also officially disbands their local monastic order, the Monks of the Soul's Fire, in an attempt to calm the situation to some degree, though nearly all known local thaumaturges end up either arrested or unaccounted for - presumably some of the latter having gone into hiding.
- The Tse Gaiyan Chapterhouse is attacked by a particularly massive swarm of infested and overrun, with many Tse Gaiyan members and officers killed in the process. Rumors circulate that this was accomplished largely due to the infiltration of the organization by infested agents.
- The infested are driven out of the Tse Gaiyan Chatperhouse with the aid of various allies, including prominent members of the Wyrvardn and the Dwaedn Wyr and, if rumors are to believed, even some Dunwyr. Tse Gaiyan survivors burn down the remains of the Chapterhouse as per their protocol and begin the arduous process of rebuilding their base and the organization itself.
- A sickness begins spreading in Shadgard, sparking some panic about a potential resurgence of the Aetgardian Plague and the flight of many citizens to other outposts. The sickness is later confirmed to not be the Plague

## COGG Era (2020-Present)

### 1220

- Cadenza Castelli is voted in as Mayor of Shadgard, along with Town Council members Susannah Buckmiller, Horace Graves, Torila Swiftriver, Gunther Mathau, and Hadi Fasih.
- An old woman rumored to be one of the last of a forgotten bloodline native to the Bluestem Plains region tells the story of Ommin-Di the Snowbird, a tale that gains popularity in the region as it is re-shared and passed on by those who attended the gathering.
- Rumors begin circulating about some lucid infested in Tarueka who are attempting to make lives for themselves but are struggling for supplies. The people of nearby Shadgard seem divided on whether to render aid or simply treat them as smarter infested and therefore a greater threat. The group of lucid infested from Tarueka eventually become known as "the Awakened", with their leader being identified as Lyra.
- Various relief efforts are made by individual Shadgard citizens to provide for the Awakened, often accompanied by much controversy.

### 1221

- News spreads of some sort of division among the Awakened, with Lyra being overthrown and taken captive by another Awakened by the name of Matlal. The Awakaned under their new leadership wish to live to their fullest potential rather than surviving on the charity of others. This leads to searches for any signs of Lyra, Matlal, or any other Awakened, who seem to have left Tarueka to the mindless infested.
- Shadgard suffers several invasions by swarms of ravens.
- Shadgard implements various town upgrades such as improved access to running water and steam radiators to provide heat during the cold season, as well as a steam-powered ore crusher in the smithy.
- The ruins of Valeria are discovered to be occupied by a large population of Liberi.
- Various factions fight for control of the Knackerspite Mine, a tin mine near Valeria essential for the production of bronze and other alloys.
- A lynch mob hangs a man outside the Hanged Man Inn, with the reasoning unclear; The most cited reasons being practice of sorcery and/or spying on Shadgard for the Mistveil Dominion. Paranoia about Dominion spies increases for a time.

### 1222

- Rumors circulate about cultists attempting to summon the Blood God in Shadgard's infirmary, putting the entire town on edge.
- An individual starts several fires in Ravenwood, bringing out many members of the Blood Cult who attempt to drive off the individual and put out the fires. Various adventurers in turn band together in an attempt to attack the cultists, but are beaten back as the cultists douse the fires and eventually withdraw.
- The ESP network is suddenly fractured into small, disconnected pockets. Accounts on what immediately preceded this are varying. The Twilight Eye begins investigating the issues and hopes to make restoration efforts.
- The Shadgard chapter of the Warrior's Guild is temporary closed after discovering one of its staff was teaching students in the ways of sorcery.
- A man by the name of Cadfael from the Free Cantrevs arrives at the Library of Qamar, asking for assistance in researching the ruins of Dusklamp with the aim to connect its history to that of his people. He leads several expeditions into the place to search for any supporting evidence and relics, later sharing some discovered history of the region regarding the Kingdom of Aetgard's seizing much of his peoples' land in order to try and prevent a civil war among their own.
- Cadfael leads another expedition into Dusklamp which leads to the discovery of some tunnels beneath the town and, unfortunately, even more dangerous infested creatures. There also appears to some signs of previous habitation that he hopes to explore on a future expedition, but disappears soon after. He is discovered several months later emaciated and comatose in the Stormholdt infirmary, having been brought there by an unknown actor.
- The Mistveil Dominion opens their southern border at Fort Haarskard, allowing travel once again.
- The Mistveil Dominion formally offers Shadgard a place in the Dominion. Shadgard refuses.
- The Twilight Eye manages to extend the fractured ESP network.
- Rumors begin circulating about the fearsome Liberi Siren, a Liberi woman with a haunting voice that can ensnare the minds of others. Encounters are reported both within Valeria and out on the roads.
- An ill-fated New Year celebration party is organized to occur in the oddly-tidy inn within the infested town of Tarueka. A conflict breaks out between the partygoers and the local infested, damaging the inn in the process.

### 1223

- Rumors begin to spread of the Awakened Infested dwelling somewhere within Dusklamp, and some internal conflict as previous leader Lyra is said to be leading a resistance against Matlal. Various support efforts are organized to assist Lyra's side.
- Mistral Lake encourages donations from citizens to help support and supply their troops, raising suspicion about potential trouble with rebellion in the north.
- Shadgard suffers several attacks by swarms of infested, presumably coordinated by Matlal the Awakened. The invaders are largely repelled in the canyon, never making it past the gatehouse, though some smaller infested creatures manage to get through to be destroyed by militia and various capable townsfolk.
- The Twilight Eye manages to expand the ESP network further, though dead zones remain.
- A group of Liberi are observed on the move outside Valeria, causing worry and alarm. They take up brief residence in the abandoned canyon village between New Emberlight and Shadgard, causing much trouble and death for travelers until moving on elsewhere.

==========

Whew! So there it is. My brain was pretty much mush by the time I got to the last couple years so again, if there are any *major* events missing or egregious errors in the above, please let me know. I feel like a lot of Tse Gaiyan stuff in particular happened in the CLOK era that I missed or have forgotten about and couldn't find info about, but they were also typically rather cagey about most of their activity in the past so it makes sense that most of it isn't on this timeline.

Happy to be the first to say that this is absolutely fantastic, and was such a blast to read.

I could probably find a few noteworthy additions to add toward the end of the clok era if I took a moment to really think about it, but altogether, this reads as a great summary of events, in my personal opinion. Fantastic job, and many thanks for the enlightenment.

As someone who was heavily involved in Tse Gaiyan activities especially around the ladder end of Clok, and please keep in mind that this is just me and my opinion following that period, which may be bias, I'd honestly love how the history plays out here instead of bringing old events in, especially ones that caused animosity between members and created a whole rift, eventually leading to drama in the process.

One thing missing is that there was a praetor who took over after the infested rumored praetor, and then the other one after, then it ended with Alarayn being the last. The two former praetors didn't really have anything major going on in between, aside from members trying to work to improve the chapterhouse, making supply rooms and adding sign to the supply yard etc. Nothing too important.

Thanks for this. It helps clarify some things. One thing I'm not seeing here though is any mention of the Hyra. There's some mention about stone canyon and its inhabitants, but nothing more. Is this intentional or just an oversight. Probably less important is all the crazyness with Burgundy house.

Thanks. I appreciate the summary of the CLOK events, even if my focus is necessarily on what has occurred in this game. I confess my initial excitement at the inclusion of CLOK content has turned to wariness lately, but this helps to dispel some of that.

There are a few events I'd consider worth adding to the COGG era summary. There's also Nobody's thread that raises things not touched on here, though much of it is outside the scope of this timeline.

I'd like to know how the appearance of Alorin (1221 Octum festival?) fits in with all this, and the announcement about Caer Ioan. Is that to be considered retconned until further notice? I loved the character, the ruckus she caused, and the existential dread experienced by much of the playerbase. Good times. The appearance of harbinger representatives was also noteworthy.

I think the discovery at the Hill Fort might be deserving of a mention and players' efforts that enabled that, but may be straying into the realm of spoilers. Same goes for some of the druidic goings-on.

Thank you for mentioning Hyra. That reminds me of something:
Where did Nelra go? If Caer-ion is new Corvous, when did Corvous become Caer-ion? You, Rias, did mention Caer-ion and Corvous being the same outpost a while back.
There's also an area added just before the disbanding of Clok called Cauldwells something, with a hole castle and a town in there. Will you retcon it or will you bring it here?
Also, no mentioning of the older infested village near Haiban. If I remember correctly, that area was build back before you still lead Clok gm team. It's supposedly near Tse Gaiyan chapterhouse somewhere, though not too near.
Kildr Dail used to be full of anything from infested beetles to explosive rock lizards in a stalagmite forest.
The introduction of the salt flats all the way to the desert not far from Shadgard.
Concord, infested ship. The dock is still there.
Since when did new Emberlight become a thing?
There's also a ruins somewhere south of Mistral I can't recall the name of for the life of me, full of nethrim stuff, flesh golems, corpses, eidolons, even imps in there.
Three mounds near Dwaedn ville full of infested, yet again. Why are there lotsa infested areas here lol?

This is all I can remember as of now if any of them have historical significance at all.

While I don't think we have to dwell on all the drama that has historically occurred within Tse Gaiyan, I also don't think we have to try and claim it never happened. For better or worse, Tse Gaiyan history is what it is. I'm trying very hard to avoid saying things didn't happen, unless they were impossible to reconcile with the lore/setting. As far as I'm aware, we don't have anyone playing their Tse Gaiyan characters from the past so there doesn't seem to be any reason to bring up past player character drama at this point. The Chapterhouse has been burnt down and (partially) rebuilt along with a lot of their organization, so this is the perfect opportunity to leave that all in the past and focus on the fresh start!

I'd forgotten about the Burgundy House. It'll probably serve as another ill-fated example of what happens when someone builds a fancy something-or-other out in the unprotected open in the Lost Lands. Those infested, canim, nethrim, brigands, cultists, Dunwyr, Liberi, and whatnot can be a real problem. Perhaps the Coalition will finally learn that just having money and wealth doesn't make them immune to the hazards of these lands. (But probably not. Money does weird things to people.)

Hyra are still around doing Hyra things in their not-yet-released area. It didn't seem practical to add a timeline bullet point for every time the controversy over whether people had the right to Manifest Destiny into their land or not came up, but maybe we'll add one for the initial instance.

People will have to wait and see what the deal with Corvus/Caer Ioan is. Corvus had long gone quiet even in CLOK, so there has been plenty of time for the dust from the tumultuous years of 1211/1212 to have settled and attentions to have focused elsewhere.
There's also an area added just before the disbanding of Clok called Cauldwells something
Caldwell has been around since early CLOK (at least as early as 2011, according to the earliest CLOK BBS post I could find referencing it), though ended up mostly reserved for events and not commonly accessible until being placed on a map expansion in late CLOK. Not yet imported into COGG.
The older infested village near Haiban.
Not yet imported.
Kildr Dail used to be full of ...
What's happened in Kildr Dale to make it quieter than it used to be? Maybe we'll find out.
salt flats all the way to the desert not far from Shadgard.
Not yet imported.
Concord, infested ship. The dock is still there.
The Concord has moved around several times in the past (CLOK), being a still-serviceable watercraft. Where could it be at the moment?
Since when did new Emberlight become a thing?
It was always there, just off the edges of the map in CLOK.
There's also a ruins somewhere south of Mistral I can't recall the name of for the life of me
Not yet imported. (But technically already on the map.)
Three mounds

Re: The CLOK/COGG (CLOGG) Timeline

Post by Rias »

Sorry, I missed one.
Where did Nelra go
It's a tiny little group of nomadic tent-dwellers, so that's a good question! Things were getting a bit dicey in the neighborhood they were last known to frequent, so their wary nomad instincts probably kicked in and they went somewhere safer and lower-profile. (Spoiler alert: They'll show up again in-game at some point. And then disappear again, and come back, and so on. Yay nomads!)

It didn't seem practical to add a timeline bullet point for every time the controversy over whether people had the right to Manifest Destiny into their land or not came up, but maybe we'll add one for the initial instance.
I'm personally very interested in the history of people attacking and harassing the Hyra :snowbird: But I may be a lil biased.
