Mistral Lake Summer Ball 1223!

Post by Rilulth »

(Announcing on behalf of the player of Bianca, because she doesn't like the BBS!)
You read a flame-shaped peach vellum sheet stamped with summer-blue waves (Common Letters) that you are holding:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMER SOLSTICE BALL
When: Julium 15th at 5 bells post-zenith
Where: In the ballroom of the Musical Arts Hall in Mistral Lake, located west of Town Square.
Come prepared for a night of wonder in this beautifully restored ballroom, decorated for the festive occasion. There
will be dancing, live music, and refreshments. We merely ask that all attendees please leave their weaponry and desire
for violence outside the hall.
Escorts will be led from Shadgard to Mistral Lake preceding the event, for those who wish to attend but do not know the
way.
All questions regarding this event should be directed to Bianca at mailbox #953.
We hope to see you there!
Attended unexpectedly and had loads of fun. Belladana, Darkangel, anyone else involved with organising player-wise, you killed it. Rilulth and potentially other GMs, the decorations and tiny one-time collectibles were stunning. Pigeon, you are my favourite ever dance partner, keep at it. All others who attended, you were marvelous, no exceptions. Thank you.
Stop putting watermellons into the first thing you see that looks like it can hold a watermellon. It is most rude, because you'll only make them feel like they don't belong.
I don't have enough words for how absolutely spectacular tonight ended up being, but I shall try.
First of all, A thank you to everyone who attended.
Without bianca, this event wouldn't have been what it was. Pigeon, you are the life of any room you enter. Crispus, the bravest of them all. Melina: you did a wonderful job making the dancefloor feel alive by including people without partners. Brenna: By the end there, only crispus and suzy matched Brenna in being drunk
To rilulth and staff, you all are a godsend. with the food, decorations, and the keepsake, you did a fantastic job.
I am fairly certain I don't recall a fair few off the top of my head, but to everyone else, keep being wonderful!
a few highlights:
Aloise spins Bianca about the dance floor before coming to a stop at the songs end. With a graceful bow, he takes her hand and places a small peck upon it before letting go and straightening out, "Glad to put you through your paces, but I must return to my musicians." he says, striding back with his boots clacking on the floor.
Alongside an unseen partner, ?Zotikos? continues his formal ballroom dance, stepping forward and back with precision, his cane occasionally tapping against the oaken floor. Eventually, as the slower and sad song comes to an end, he comes to a halt, sweeps off his a black silk top hat with a matching velvet ribbon, and bows.
Melina smiles at Saciri "Well, to the sacrificial circle we go." before she walks to form the circle, linking her arms with the next one in the link.
Her attention otherwise turned toward her dance partner Saciri comments toward those on the side to say, "Keep that up and you will be joining us before you know it. By choice or..." She cuts herself short as she simply smiles, continuing to move to the rhythm of the music, finding her new steps.
last but not the least, pigeon's dancing circle, despite my character having no idea what she was doing there in the end.
I'll just reiterate that the ball was a fantastic time. Thank you to all who put it together. Thank you to the people who were there and just made it special. Pigeon, I can't get over the dancing that manages to happen each time you show up at a party. I love it. It may not seem like it, but I can be a little shy, and that always brings me out of my shell a bit. Party on, everyone. Until next time.
As always, a wonderful, wonderful job to everyone involved! It was such fun and so beautifully decorated! Shout out to all the dancing and trying to get all the wallflowers involved.
Special shoutout to Cris and Suzy, for being great dance partners and for being complete opposite dances. One formal and adorable, the other like a wild hurricane on the waters. Dance on and don't let the druid catch you in her twirly wake!
Wonderful, and special thanks to the food flavor text and the hanging flowers, yay!
I usually get overwhelmed quickly by the crowd when this kind of event comes up, eeing everyone enjoy the fun is pretty much the highlight of it all despite the rapid emotes and says. Admittedly though, it's like a competition of emotes when everyone brought out their creative sides, a delight to see and imagine along.
Special thanks again to Adira for making it personally less awkward for me when I was torn between actually leaving and staying. That made for a more fun baul closure than I expected. Sorry for not doing anything much though, and thank you everyone.
