Skill Expertise

Post by Lexx416 »

I've seen people ask to be able to teach other PCs (in lieu of having to go back to Trainers), and while I'm not a huge fan of that I do think it'd be neat if there was an ability that folks who cap skill to 700 can take, called Skill Expertise. What I envision that being is something that prompts you to select an area of Expertise derived from your capped skills (so only one area of expertise per PC), that allows you to ADVISE someone on your area of expertise. This would prompt a Consent/Denial command from the target, and if they agree they get a little buff for a bell or two that improves the rate at which the skill in question is learned - only one such buff available at a time (so no super-improving every skill at once).

The idea being it'd be a nice way to reward people with something that generates interaction/RP but also benefits lower-skilled folks. I don't think it should add a whole bunch of skillgain, but I was thinking a very small increase to the skill generated from repetitions, or from single-time skill improvements such as in combat.
