Mistral Lake Winter Solstice Events

Post by Delphine »

Silver-edged pale-cerise invitations have begun to appear about both Mistral Lake and Shadgard, within their respective community crates, bearing details of two upcoming Dominion events.

Cerise, acting on behalf of the Mistveil Keep
and the Council of Nine, is happy to invite the citizens
of the Mistveil Dominion, New Emberlight, and Shadgard to
our Performing Arts Competition and Winter Solstice Ball.

PERFORMING ARTS COMPETITION
When: Desumbar 11th at noon
Where: The Shattered Pumpkin in Mistral Lake
Bring your stories, songs, poems, and/or dances and be prepared
to show off! There is no theme, though anything festive will be
most welcome. First place will be awarded 25,000 riln. Second
place will be awarded 15,000 riln. Third place will be awarded
5,000 riln. Refreshments will be provided.

WINTER SOLSTICE BALL
When: Desumbar 18th at 7 bells post-zenith
Where: In the ballroom of the Musical Arts Hall in Mistral Lake,
located west of Town Square, to be opened the night of the event.
Come prepared for a night of wonder in this beautifully restored
ballroom, decorated for the festive occasion. There will be dancing,
live music, and refreshments. We merely ask that all attendees please
leave their weaponry and desire for violence outside the hall.

Escorts will be led from Shadgard to Mistral Lake preceding both events,
for those who wish to attend but do not know the way. And be on the
lookout for Master Seamstress Aaliyah perhaps paying Mistral Lake a visit
before the ball! All questions regarding these events should be directed
to Cerise at mailbox #420.

I'm very sad that I likely won't be there. I hope everyone has lots of fun! And maybe we'll get some logs, if anything fun happens there, which I'm sure will.

A gentle retcon is occurring in terms of the location of the Musical Arts Hall in Mistral Lake. It's now west of Town Square. Flyers have been updated!

That was my fault, I misread my map. Sorry for the confusion and thanks to Rias for the quick catch <3

Hey, guys! Just a reminder that the ball is TONIGHT at 7 bells post-zenith in Mistral Lake, at the performing arts hall west of town square.

I don't actually know a lot about dancing, enough to really describe it, but i managed to pull things from people's crazy detailed emotes and swing with things (haha) enough that it worked out. I'm super glad it turned out I was able to make it. +1 to all the people who showed up. Also +1 to a lot of whispering and secret stuff. Heheh.

That was absolutely delightful, if a bit overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who organised and attended.
Stop putting watermellons into the first thing you see that looks like it can hold a watermellon. It is most rude, because you'll only make them feel like they don't belong.

Though a little bit crazy with a screenreader as a result of population, as others have stated-- that was just an absolutely delightful, wonderful experience to take part in.

Thanks to those of you who took part, thanks to those of you who clearly worked so hard to make it a reality, and thanks especially to those of you who I had the chance to interact with this evening. It's been a great time and I'm looking forward to continued interactions with ya'll.

Shoutout again to Rilulth and Ansarian and all of the staff who worked so hard on outfitting, too. That was so great of you guys. All of this has been so fun and we all love you for it.

I'm falling asleep at my computer right now, but I wanted to slide in here really quick and drop some thanks before I do.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight, who participated, and who made an effort to ensure others were having a good time and were participating in turn. Big events are hard. But I saw so many people picking up on who the "loners" were at the party and I loved seeing those people luring the loners out onto the dance floor. Special shoutouts to Pigeon, Zakalwe, Reslior, and Alexei for that. I know there were other people engaging in this (and thank you so much), but my brain is mush right now.

Thank you to the GM team for making this happen. There were a lot of special touches and I know it's been a busy two weeks bringing this all together. Thank you, Rilulth, for hearing me rambling about a ball IC and just running with it. Everyone seems to have had a great time. I know I did!

Thank you for the laughs (Ursun and Pigeon! and Zakalwe and Zotikos!), the social snubs (seriously, I loved that and you know who you are; stare at me harder, baby), the whispered banter (what's a ball without some lowly voiced flirting?), the beautiful dancing (shadowy dancers were delightful to watch as were... I mean, I just loved watching all y'all dance to be fair), and the absolutely delightful chaos that was trying to keep up with and read the flurry of emotes flying across my screen.

And a special shoutout to Kaiju who woke up at 2 am, threw on some coffee, and emoted like a pro. I would be dying right now if I was in your shoes, but I was glad you and your character were able to come out for the event.

Good night, everyone, and thanks for the great time!
