Dismissing/Dispelling Effects

Post by Xandrea »

Some effects can last a long time! Whether it be a blurr glyph or otherwise some spells can impede conversation.etc and in other cases you may not want certain casted effects to be active when you decide to stop fighting baddies!

Perhaps effects could have a flag to let the game know what/whom casted something on you to make it allowable/unallowable to dispell. (DISPELL / EXPUNGE) could be easy verbs to use for this if accepted. It's to be noted that only spells with POSITIVE affects are at will dispellable (Unless the spell has more negatives than positives.)

EXTRA
Perhaps for those privy to magicka, there could be an added bit where you can attempt to brute force a spell from effecting yourself or someone else! (Be those effects positive or negative!) I'd propose this being a resist 3/4ths the strength of the original caster which the person attempting to [PURGE] the effect must have the related skill be a total higher than the spell's resistance. (That is a temporary thing. Perhaps this would be a roll-able system but, as magicka gets more diverse this system may get very complex to keep updated!)
How many Sorcerers does it take to read a book?

Choosing to drop/dismiss/dispel some of one's effects is on the to-do list.
