Ruined sites with permanent and unique arcana circles (the technology is lost). Controlling faction can enter and receive the buff as long as they control it.. probably not a combat buff. Experience absorption or bucket size buff, better luck with treasure, etc.

A bottleneck ambush point that caravans supplying one faction or the other pass through. Losing your own point means more limited resources supplies to your town that the other side gains. Battles can only last until the supply caravan passes.

Place an obelisk or stele in front of each town, where the only way to display messages on it is to own a capturable site. The owner of the site can post memos on the board there that will write to both steles. Read only, write only, baby!

A well of booze that refills daily that only the controlling faction can withdraw booze from.

A resource site where the central focus is a gigantic magic 8 ball. You can write letters with questions on it and throw it into an offering box, and the magic 8 ball will provide vaguely ominously answers.

A super megaphone contraption where if you speak into it, everyone in the game can hear you. Listening is not optional. Your voice comes out distorted so no one can tell who said it.

A set of stationary arcane cannons that the owning faction can fire. Where it fires off to, no one knows. But it's fun to fire them!

A site with a ballista that the owning faction can use to fire at people. Tower defense!

An infirmary where only the winner can have on-duty physickers. Patients pay more here.

A capturable site where the winners can go into a room and challenge a shadow clone of themselves. Beat your shadow clone enough times and you win a sense of accomplishment.

A capturable site where there is a temple that needs to be prayed to daily and given sacrifices, or else negative things affect both towns. Neither town wants to fight for it, but if they don't, then life sucks for everyone.

A capturable site where players can make their own soaps, but ingredients have to be bought there.

A cat cafe that is only available to the winning faction. You can buy a drink which will give you access to the site for a short period of time, and petting the cats gives you morale.

A site where the winning faction gets free rooms at the inn there.

A resource site that is actually just chess and you have to play real chess. the winning faction is able to buy chess sets to bring home to play chess anywhere, but the chess sets break after one game is played.

A resource site called the big dig where you can only enter it after changing from your clothing into the provided gear. the provided gear is just basic clothing. Once inside, you can dig up ancient artifacts which are weapons and armor of various types and mostly in terrible condition, and you use those to fight the other faction. The items disintegrate once taken out of the big dig. Channeled magic such as sorcery cannot be used at the big dig. You can dig up artifacts which allow you to ZAP with them to various effects but the effect is random every time. The winning faction gets a slight bonus to digging speed. Maybe you can buy special versions of the zappable random effect artifacts here as well that can be taken to the overworld.

The angry orchard is a resource site where the entire battle takes place amidst a forest where all the trees are animated and are fighting too. A 3 way battle. The winner gets access to the grove but you still have to fight the animated trees. The trees turn into fallen trees when defeated. Higher woodcutting does in fact make you much more accurate and damaging against the trees.

The bloodied lake is a resource site where all parties have to fight from on top of rafts or boats. It is BYOB (Bring your own boat) where the winners get access to fishing and diving here. The water is always blood red and hard to see through. Players capable of diving can attack the boats from underneath to destroy them.

There is a resource site where both factions enter from opposite sides and cannot interact due to powerful forcefields. However in the middle of both respective sites are two ancient golems that can only be activated by cleaning them of debris and dirt. The dirt is only movable when there is someone from either faction on both sides. Once the golem is cleaned off, an arcanist or a team of arcanists can try to activate the golem, which will become a friendly follower that will follow the activator to another resource site. Alternatively: Rock'em sock'em golems. A player from either faction can possess the golem and duke it out with the other faction's golem. The winning team can collect golem parts to wear as armor. Golem armor is unrepairable but may have special glyphs with limited charges that can be activated on them that do things like activate a short duration forcefield or glow.

A resource site where there are various pneumatic tubes that will rapidly shunt you to other locations in the world.

A resource site where the winners get access to a giant soup pot that seemingly refills with endless soup. How nourishing!

Vagrants. A resource site that the causes the losing town to have higher crime rates, resulting in increased pickpocket and vagrant spawns.
