Arcanist Glyph Idea: Vecer?

Post by alila »

Hi!

Sorry for the cluelessness--I was uncertain if there is some proper language structure to the names of glyphs, but it was only really a placeholder name.

The concept of `vecer` was to repurpose other glyphs by allowing an arcanist to impart direction and acceleration to them while standing within a circle; in essence, the ability to 'throw' the powers of glyphs, instead of them being centered around them.

A `dorun` shield might instead be the often-mentioned ball of force projectile, or `shaol` could be used to fling physical levitate-able items--maybe a campfire? ;) `uyto` might gather sound as it travels, resulting in a disorienting blast of sound, more effective if the room ambience is louder. `distyr` could reveal the aura of a target, which might be useful in some interesting cases? It would at least make stealth a little more difficult for the victim.

Being greedy and poking for lore as per usual, the distyr glyph mentions it reveals your aura. What precisely is an aura? Do only living things possess it, or sufficiently exotic items, too? Do nethrim have auras? Can different conditions, such as taint or the resen infestation or the canim disease alter it in some way detectable by the distyr glyph?

Thank you for reading this far! Yes, `vecer` is an allusion to vector, because I am a terribly uncreative person. :(
