Bolstering Shout
-Guardian
Syntax: bs "Gibberish"
With a cry of stand fast or whatever other gibberish these so called warriors want to yell, anyone in their group gets an immediate bonus to balance in regards to defensive rolls. This could be dependant on the Guardian's level, with synergy to Linguistics, Music, and Storytelling in regards to duration/amount. This doesn't effect the actual Guardian however. In seriousness, it would be fairly cool if the syntax of usage allowed the Guardian to use the ability BUT echo a certain string they feel is suitable for the situation.

Syntax: po "Gibberish"
A Guardian knows that sometimes the only way to win is just to get through the pain. Another shout really, but this time instead of a balance bonus it could give a boost to immediate Energy for a duration to the group. When it ends, if a character effected by it hasn't been "hit" then they retain the energy. If they have been, they lose it though it will never go below certain thresholds depending on the Guardian skill. For example, a high skilled Guardian might bolster someone back up to 500 energy. They're hit, and during combat go back down to 301, and then lose the energy but due to the Guardian, they only drop down to say 300. If they were below that already, then they stay at whatever value it is. Doesn't effect the guardian. Thresholds could be determined by level, with potential additional synergies.

Any time a Guardian effects other people in their groups with a buff, the Guardian gets a portion of the bonus based around how much they effect other people. IE, high level guardian uses Bolstering Shout on a group of 20, they're going to get a significant buff to their balance for defences. If they use Press On, they'd get a weaker version of it for themselves. Effected by level, and Meditation.

Warcry
-Dreadnought/Berserker/Marauder
Syntax: warcry "gibberish"
Basically the offensive version of Bolstering Shout, adding a bonus to balance for offensive rolls. However, the Dreadnought/Berserker does get a benefit from it, as well as the group. Also neat if they can adjust the shout to the time.

Relentless
-Berserker/Marauder
Passive
Once engaged in combat, the character in question has an increased movement capacity on foot for a period of time, and perhaps even 1 less traveltime in the wilderness.

Reckless Strike
Berserker/Marauder/Dreadnought
The character attempts to land a debilitating blow to quickly end a fight. It comes with a reasonably sized balance cost, but also doesn't have many rerolls. Idea being, it's either a very stupid move, or part of a setup where your opponent is already on their ass. Could potentially halve balance gain for a short while after as well, as it puts you so out of position that you're backpedalling for a while after.

Indomitable
-Dreadnought
Passive
A blow that would otherwise kill the Dreadnought either via energy loss, or critical strike allows the Dreadnought to make one strike with his weapon, consuming all their balance in doing so. If they manage to strike their opponent, they shrug the blow off by armor/bulk/fortitude but either have 1 energy (if it was due to energy loss) or severe wounds on the critical energy). Long cooldown.

Umm guardians would like something like "Indomitable"... and yes guardians should be capable of supporting others but not just that, all 3 of those ideas are just support, and effect all ideas usually get nerfed. So perhaps a warrior general ability "Last Stand" / "Die Hard"

Wanted to just post to say I agree: Guardians should be awesome group support warriors, but we still need to ensure they have plenty of stuff they can do on their own that is unique to them and doesn't require other group members.

Agree. I like the idea of a guardian ability called "die hard" where they leave a small crater in the ground due to the impact from their heavy armor when they're killed.

Come on with the more suggestions then. I struggle to come up with interesting stuff for Sword & Bored, but just figured I'd throw out the couple of ideas I had. As one of their main gimmicks seems to be about acting as a lynch-pin in a group, it's just what I went with.

While under Guardian Tactics you have a chance to counter attack using your weapon and increases intercept chance/weight.

While under Tactic Guardian and guarding a single target you gain increased block weight/rolls as battle goes on(similar to offense again for duelist but defense since you're focusing on one person rather than the group)

Stance: Total Defense
-Warrior
(Activate, costs balance)

Enter a stance of focusing on defense gaining additional defense rolls based on balance spent, similar but opposite to True Strike, but during the stance you're attacks roll weight is reduced and each round you lose 1 additional roll gained from the ability until it fades completely. (Example spend 25 balance, 5 each grants 5 more defense rolls on first round, 4 on second, 3 on 3rd, etc.)

Righteous Fury

Each time a CC type effect is used against you or anyone in your group you gain the effect "Righteous Fury" granting an additional offense and defense roll for that round.( could be tweaked to only against meditation since that is the skill you learn from guardian trainer but would rather it be all obviously lol, same with activation, maybe not just when it is attempted perhaps only when you or a group member fails so you have the extra defense when you fail but offense when ally fails)
