Tactics: Nightblade

Post by Rias »

The Tactics: Nightblade ability has been overhauled, and actually does something to affect their combat situation now. See here: https://cogg.contrarium.net/wiki/index. ... Nightblade

It'll probably need a lot of tweaking as people get a feel for it, but the overall idea is that a Nightblade tends to start out with the advantage in combat (extra rerolls), but as the encounter goes on and the Nightblade builds up more and more risk, their bonuses start turning into penalties. This should encourage Nightblades to duck out of a combat situation that has gone on too long, take a few moments to lower their risk and get back into stealth, then come at their target again after they've regained their advantages.

So pretty much the whole assassin gig. Strike when the advantage is yours, and if things aren't quickly resolved, escape to reposition and come at it again from a new position of strength.

It sounds great to me on paper, but it's going to need some more thorough testing to see how it feels in practice.
