Currently, you need to subdivide an arcane diagram into smaller pieces for glyphs to go in. This makes sense in most cases, because usually a single glyph would not be useful on its own. However...
I propose that a diagram be allowed to hold a single glyph if it has not been subdivided. This would allow activator glyphs to be tested and (demonstrated to others) more efficiently. (....Alright, and I'll admit, I think it'd be kinda fun to doodle and activate diagrams this way, just to pass the time.)
TL;DR: Let a separator-less diagram count itself as a shape with 1 glyph-slot.
