Combat experience now considers attack type

Post by Rias »

Previously, combat experience was based on your greatest combat skill, regardless of attack types (melee or ranged) actually used against that target. This made it frustrating to skill up a second attack type when you had a first one that was significantly higher, since you couldn't move to lower-skill targets to employ your new combat skill since it was considering your higher skill anyway. Yeah.

So now when you defeat a mob, it checks which types of attacks you used against it, then grants experience based on that. Do note that many maneuvers count as melee "attacks" (feint, tackle, etc.), so if you feint, shield bash, tackle, then finally shoot them with a bow to kill them, it's going to base that experience on the melee moves you primarily used, despite a ranged attack being the killing blow.
