Re: Discord, and not wanting to depend on any Discord-specific features

Just a couple of things Discord users might want to be aware of, especially when someone pops up in a channel with a Matrix/IRC tag: * Quoted text in replies is not visible outside discord, so the thread of conversation may not be immediately clear if you're using those alone to refer to something s...

Re: Yves Maquette.

Thank you. Yes, reading this is bittersweet. Mostly, though, I'm feeling blessed that Yves had all these interactions and made an impression. I am sorry they didn't say goodbye. There was always the possibility they would go for a long walk (or skip?) and never return, but Shadgard kept giving them ...

Truffle Hogs

While my character was talking about snouts, for some reason, I was consumed by a sudden desire to keep truffle pigs. I'm sure players have asked for pigs in the past, but this feels like it would be easier to balance than introducing butchery. As a branch of Animal Husbandry that allows more freedo...

Re: Backstory Guidelines & Policy

My embarrassment and general feeling of nausea is pretty much compounded at this point in the thread, but I think the conversation was probably a necessary one. Rias' comment about professional consultation being necessary, and impossible to guarantee here, has been the key take-away for me, though ...

Backstory Guidelines & Policy

I am honestly embarrassed that I have any cause at all to make this thread, but I do want to check a couple of things regarding the new policy statement on backstories. 'Characters with backstory conditions resulting in significant functional impairment (physical or mental) are not allowed.' I know ...

Re: Stagger/Combat Feedback

Small additional suggestion (wasn't sure where to put it, sorry Teri!): succesfully fending off a tackle/sweep attempt should still trigger the cooldown for that ability. At the moment as a warrior, I can just retry tackling at the next RT opportunity.

Re: Movement, Pacing, and Wilderness Travel

At the moment, I expend I think -1 energy riding a league on a courser, without certain abilities factoring in. It takes me -5 energy to just mount the horse with 400 Riding. The discrepancy makes me do a double take, but it's really immaterial. Once you have a mount of any kind, managing your food ...

Re: Guilds, Societies, Factions, Characters, Skills, Abilities, the Lost Lands, Scope, COGG

This doesn't strike me as glum. It sounds like you're full of energy and hope for the future of the game and it's heartening to read. I've made comments about the current system that have expressed anxiety or frustration in the past, I hope they haven't contributed to that sense of despondence that ...

Birdwatching

The recent changes to beekeeping and the addition of flowers spurred this random suggestion. I'd like to see more wild (non-combat) birds to go with the bees! I'm not sure it would be quite right for farms, but until we have our own player housing, hopefully with garden spaces (?), it'd be fun if we...
