Re: Dwaedn Vil trail cleared and sign restored

The new trails and totems and other adds put it on the level of Stone Canyon for me, which is the highest compliment I can give. Always had a good time staying here and using it as a place to meet up with more civilized people before and that will be an even better time now. The snowshoe hare meal d...

Re: Primitive leather

Other items we would need to do primitive leatherworking without metal are a needle and an awl, which we could carve out of bone or antler with bushcraft skill. We also need to be able to cut patterns without scissors, so let us use a knife with some kind of downside to using it instead of scissors.

Re: Primitive leather

As a survival enthusiast going for the deliberate primitive look I would like to add my support to this suggestion.

Sling compared to Bow

Right now I'm using a sling. It's great. It's easy to make. It's small and extremely light. Ammo is cheap and easy to find or make. I can just pick up rocks off the ground if I'm out of better ammo. It does crush damage which one of the best damage types. You can even use a shield with a sling. Comp...

Forage for logs

We can forage for straight branches, we can forage for deadwood logs, what about foraging for useful logs? They can be rarer but then I wouldn't have to chop down an entire tree when I just need one split log to craft something I need for survival (fireboard). They can be from trees that have fallen...

Re: Dying Bundled Items

Makes sense to allow for dyeing a bunch of cloth, just stick it all in a big cauldron.

Re: Love almost everything, but not the level and skill systems

I'm beta testing the skill practice method and god damn, does it feel good. The level version made me feel like I was living paycheck to paycheck. Work to a level up to earn some points. Spend all those points immediately. Back to empty feeling drudgery hoping to see that next level up paycheck as s...

Re: Love almost everything, but not the level and skill systems

Very cool to see consideration for the different skill practice idea and the other post on it. Sign me up for that beta test. I'm happy to try it and give feedback. Other volunteers who have had more experience than I have with the levels system should also be given the opportunity to avoid bias and...

Re: Love almost everything, but not the level and skill systems

I had a feeling I would be viewed as a power gamer uninterested in RP for making my post. Let me try to explain. I am not the type who only plays for progress and doesn't enjoy RP. I would not have played CLOK without the RP. If I want nothing but progress quest, I have hundreds of single player gam...

Re: Love almost everything, but not the level and skill systems

I don't think you understood my meaning. I don't want things to go any faster. I just want to see small consistent incremental actual progress as I use a skill, instead of seeing progress all at once in infrequent bursts at each level up. The amount of time and effort don't need to change, just how ...
