Re: The Artisan Guild (and other profession thoughts)

I think if what "high-end crafts taking days" means is that "to achieve quality above Fine, it may take upwards of a day or more to complete the craft", that there shouldn't be ways to lower that time investment (beyond individual skill, to a limited degree). One of the only rea...

Re: The Artisan Guild (and other profession thoughts)

Oh, I entirely agree that the mechanic I was proposing is not needed for crafting times to be reasonable as things stand now. I had just read something about high-end crafts taking days to complete, and thought it would be ideal for players to have a way to RP out of such a dull experience. I grasp ...

Re: Yves Maquette.

Ah, I suppose that explains not seeing them around recently... Well, I thoroughly enjoyed RPing with them, too!The commitment to bring a bucket of water *every* time your character goes to the forges so they can take a quick sponge bath *every* time they start getting sweaty had my attention, but fi...

Re: The Artisan Guild (and other profession thoughts)

To build off previous reply, if workshops were given expanded facilities for artisans, I can think of a few nice perks in line with the concept of a skilled professional. 1. Batch Crafting This has been requested before, but setting your character up natively to work on the same recipe multiple time...

Re: The Artisan Guild (and other profession thoughts)

I can appreciate this idea in spirit. All things considered, I still don't like the idea of any craft being assisted by multiple crafters in order to reduce times and place marks conjointly. Mostly because I can't imagine any situation in which ten crafters could stand around and hammer a sword bla...

Re: The Artisan Guild (and other profession thoughts)

I've only skimmed as my attention is horrible today, so apologies if this has been mentioned, but regarding increased crafting times/energy cost/some other thing for high quality/high skill work, I'd like to propose an idea that pop up in my head all the time: have many hands make light work. In tre...

Re: Sawmills!

Thought I'd post this here since it seems relevant but let me know if I should put it in the suggestions thread. A very handy woodcutting recipe would be a Hauling Sled. Basically you'd need two large logs to craft it, and once completed you could stack up to five large logs on it at a time. You cou...

Re: Woodcutting efficiency updates

With approx 250 woodcutting and fine iron tools, a large tree can now be felled in 10 minutes. The resulting logs do still take 80-90 minutes to carve into Timbers, but if I can transport them to the Sawmill to get the new Sawmill Operator ability, that should speed things up. Ironically I decided t...

Re: Wishlist Ideas You Want to See

No idea how I didn't think of this before, but mount rentals would be amazing and would eliminate the epidemic of sad abandoned mules confined for life to the stables once someone has saved up for a horse. It could be like 5% of the mount cost for 24 hour access to a horse/mule/etc. It could be exte...
