Re: Discussion about the Warrior Experience
As with most of my opinions, hot takes ahead. You have been warned. Sometimes warriors want to be relied on and people just don't want to rely on warriors. You can already see the trend without any real code to support it. There's a little something lacking in COGG's DNA in regards to how inter-cha...

Re: Various Quality-of-Life Suggestions
All kills should give a nominal amount of experience even if you don't get skill training off of it. High level warriors sometimes accompany other people just for fun. When those people return to town for healing or a break, we hop on our warhorses and run that long-distance package to Stormholdt an...

Re: On Skills
I've been gone a whiiiile, and I'll be busy and gone again soon, but I've got some hot takes. Many 1-point wonder skills lack depth, and that's why we see a lack of specialization. This isn't deriding the game, since it's in development and there's only so much attention to go around. My most-used c...

Re: Stagger Locking/Technique 'Spamming'.
Rokal dragged me from the grave for a post. So the problem with stagger is threefold: One, you can't fight back, two your rolls are negged so far that you are almost certainly going to be hit for maximum damage, and three, it's very spammable. All this serves to essentially negate the chance factor ...

Re: What is a reroll worth?
Pre-post edit and amendment: The majority of this was written before I knew about Nobody's post, and as I wrote I found progressively simpler ways of explaining the subject. The post is already written, and I'm not committed enough to rewrite it, but if you like, you can skip it and go to https://a...

Re: Crossbow vs Javelin vs Bow
@Talyn The best way to get a weapon's damage max is to hit a vagrant's limbs until they go unconscious. Your attacks while unconscious hit for max and they have no resistances. I bought an ash crossbow for testing, and its DF is in fact 94. This is more reliable and math-free, and you can apply the ...

Re: Crossbow vs Javelin vs Bow
Please make an effort to gather accurate information before making broad claims and sweeping suggestions. Let's see. hurl seems to have some sort of bonus damage to it the max damage I've seen with javelins tends to range 120 at least for steel. I think riversteel makes it range up to 125 maybe. It ...

Re: Combat discussion 8/14/2021
To clarify, I don't think the combat skill cap should go up by 25 per level; 10 is perfectly fine, and scales well with the zones available. By level 30 I had absolutely stopped caring where my skills were at and I've just been chasing the cap. Combat costs a lot of points and I feel you'd have to b...

Combat discussion 8/14/2021
There's a pretty lively combat discussion going on today, and because there's a wide variety of topics and I'm not sure what thread to revive, maybe a new thread is best. Hopefully people can just weigh in on what they're interested in. Some of the points below weren't talked about but I'm personall...

Re: What little additions or updates do you want?
Forgot to add this: A command at a stable for them to find your lost horse for a fee. Two reasons for this: My warhorse has been lost since the update. It's better for players to have an accessible command to get their mounts back rather than wait on staff intervention. And: sometimes people do just...
