Re: Sunset Points from retired characters
Our resident number expert's analysis does not demonstrate that it is a reasonable system, only that it is on the borderline of where it should be based on his analysis and the criterion he is using. This says nothing about whether it is a fair or reasonable system. I suppose I won't keep going here...

Re: Sunset Points from retired characters
It isn't the same thing, at all, though. Once a character is retired they are essentially gone, forever. Sunset points act as a way for the time invested in a retired character to serve some purpose. Over time (because the Sunset system doesn't instantly grant experience), and at a cost (because th...

Re: Sunset Points from retired characters
Great analysis but I do strongly disagree with your conclusions. 1) If I can crossover experience between my characters, why can't I crossover other things like wealth, items, etc? It's the same thing. There is supposed to be a dividing line between characters and this crosses them over. I should no...

Re: I'm Watching You!
I suppose I'll just have to wait and see what other changes are implemented. I am not sure why you say that running in and out would not go particularly well. The update only impacts attempts to hide in front of a mob. Getting spotted and walking out while they're in search rt, rehiding, and coming ...

Re: I'm Watching You!
While this has a global effect on stealth users, it does not solve the ranged issue and simply motivates people to run in and out of a combat rooms rather than stay engaged...

Re: I'm Watching You!
Perhaps a mechanic to actually trace back shots and spot someone would be warranted at this time so that you can act after being fired upon rather than just getting into an rt dance of hiding/searching that poses no risk to the ranged attacker. Doing so would allow people to actually draw ranged att...

Re: Combat Updates: More getting hit, less instant death
Considering that ranged weapons are still capable of instant kills at the moment and eyes are nearly impossible to hit when aiming, I am not sure allowing that work around is actually a benefit to those that would choose to use it. Try cloning my character and aiming for the eyes if you don't believ...

Re: Duration Items and Shelving
The only issue that I can see with this would be quivering bowstrings, which this would take out of circulation when shelving.

Re: Combat Updates: More getting hit, less instant death
The only vital location I seem to be able to reliably hit is chest on lowered skilled opponents even with +35% aim (agility plus new ability). I assume chest is easier than head is easier than neck... but they all have the same health, correct? So why are the other hit locations so much more difficu...

Re: Combat Updates: More getting hit, less instant death
For aiming, I'm wondering how difficult it would be to specify a narrower range of body parts (particularly with smaller weapons but probably all) on a failure to target the intended location. I mean that it doesn't entirely make sense, at least to me, that I aim at the head and hit a leg, for insta...
